Jinx performing at Gem and Jam Festival circa 2022

Jinx's movement arts journey began when she was just 6 years old, after joining competitive baton twirling for the first time. Ever since she has been has been prolific in prop manipulation, and has received around 10 years of active performing experience. Today she is passionate about sharing her art with others across the country.
Originally from Wellington, Florida, Jinx moved to Colorado in 2017 and unexpectedly discovered the flow arts community. She adapted quickly, as her baton twirling background is foundational in her knowledge of VTG, which is the language of all double props. She soon learned how to spin every single pair of double prop, and could translate moves between them all!
Jinx soon fell in love with multi-hoops. Her shapeshifting prowess developed and 4 hoops has become one of her most significant acts. It is greatly inspired by Native American hoop dancing.

Training
Growing up, Jinx trained with Wellington Twirling for around 6 years before discovering flow arts. Notable flow arts instructors and inspiration include private lessons by Ray Harper, who showed her the language of VTG, and private lessons from Devin Martin, who taught her how to use triple and quad hula hoops.

Jinx has explored multiple styles of dance such as belly dance fusion, contemporary dance, and hip-hop. In 2021, she trained tribal fusion styles under Darshan Dance company. She continued belly dance training with Brianna Hennessey at Xxpressions studio, and now Jinx is currently training with her intermediate belly dance troupe "Integrated Circus".

She eventually also grew a passion for aerial arts and begun aerial training at Gravity Aerial Arts a couple of years ago. Currently, she is training lyra, hammock, silks, and trapeze at Circus Collective. She also owns a rig that is great to use for the lyra hoop!
